Rambling #7 i suck @ blogging plus i am a new mum for a week

Yes i suck @ blogging i don't do it everyday cos if feel my life isn't that exciting .. but finally something exciting has arrived in the form of Miss Miho Ario, our Japanese Exchange student and we love her dearly after one night. LOL

We have know for about 4 weeks that Miho would be arriving on July 22ND @ 4pm to Miss M's school Shalom College.

So of course as a good host parents Paul and i have been cleaning, washing, gardening, well just about everything you can do to your house and garden has been done. LOL

We have cute 3 bedroom brick house so Miho has her own room, being tight with money the new sheets that i wanted to purchased gave way to me bleaching and washing a set of whites sheets I got in March. So after 3 days of this process the sheets made it to the ironing board and then on to the bed. It is a single bed that got moved in there after we brought queen size bed and miss m got the double LOL

So Miho's bed had the purple background with huge yellow bumblebees all over it on her bed with to single doonas inside, two pillows and clean white sheets lol.

Yesterday afternoon i sent miss m a message at 3.45 asking if they were there yet... of course they were and Paul had just walked through the front door... i was dressed he went in work ware lol we arrive and have no idea where the staff room is ask to boys, to point and say its the building in front of you marked staff room D'OH a USB moment lol

We walk in of course everyone turns and stares and i cant find my child waving at me no.. i have to look around and her back it turned ... typical... we walk over and get introduced to Miho she smiles she bows she is so cute.

We stand and chat and the miss m Japanese teacher calls the students to attention and my miss m walks out to do the welcome speech, because the grade 12 boy chickened out, lol... she made the speech i know she said hello her name and her school lol

We mingle with all parents and students every other parent has done it before, this is our first year, they normally come a week later so we are @ splendour in the grass but this year we are not going * cries cries cries* another blog post there i am guessing lol

After about 15 minutes we decide it is time to come home we grab Mihos luggage and walk to the car and proceed to drive out ,, now living in Bundaberg and Shalom being where it is,, u have to drive through some farm field to get out of school grounds so they have large treet lights down the road... we are driving out and there is a kookaburra sitting on the light post.. lol i say stop we get out for a picture lol Paul says this is going to be long week LOL

We arrive home and show Miho around, she likes her little Koala and purse we have waiting for her, she looks tired and she would be they left Tokyo 830 pm Wednesday nnite and got to Bundaberg 3.30pm Thursday. WOW big effort for 16 kids and two teachers lol

We order pizza and told her to order what ever she wanted she went bacon double cheese burger.as a treat we get it delivered and with our other pizzas.. the girls go to miss m's room i hear giggling and some tryng of Japanese words and English words LOL

After dinner the girls have there wash and we show Miho our shower.. now in my perfect bathroom i would have shower like in Japan large enuf for two and a seat lol but we explain how ours works lol .

After 4o minutes both girls have had showers and done hair and come out to done some home work...

While they get started i make miss m and Miho a Milo and get the Tim tams out, after home work is done miss m proceeds to show Miho and Tim tam orgasm LOL but we just said Tim Tam treat LOL

of course Miho loved it and said thank you omg she is so polite lol

Miho finished her milo and played with Mr Stoney Cat and MEME Cat it was time for bed, we were all tired and still excited about our new house mate.

I didn't sleep to well, you know that sleep where you sleep but you don't because you are waiting for the kids to wake up well that was me with Miho LOL But nothing went wrong LOL

We got up at 630 am me and miss m at 645am i went on knocked on Mihos bedroom door and poked my head i said good morning and she had a little blanket on the top of her

OMG SHE WAS COLD !!!!!!!!!!

I did ask her if she was cold and she a little so i put extra blanket on for tonite ... i made them toast with peanut butter and Vegemite she liked Vegemite yay

AS a special treat for both girls i let them buy tuckshop.. Miss m is not big on tuckshop and she knows we cant afford it everyday like some but as a treat once every few motnhs she likes ... so tuckshop for big lunch and donuts and juice for little lunch.

We are having a sausage sizzle tonight for dinner with mash.. and the girls are thinking about going to the school dance ...

But a big week is planned and on Sunday we are going to Childers Festival of Cultures with which will be fun for all....

FINGERSCROSSED FOR A GOOD WEEK

  1. Oh sweet ... we had a Japanese au pair when the kids were young and I was working full time. She was from a wealthy family (flew here business class mind you!) and wanted to spend a few months to improve her illness. She didn't actually have much experience with kids, but she was lovely and caring. She went with us everywhere, just like one of the family She was a bit shocked with the way we lived ... typical Aussie home, backing onto bush, spiders, snakes etc ... as she was used to apartment living in Tokyo. She had never cooked a meal in her life! It was a really nice experience.
